Poverty of any kind makes for a miserable unenjoyable life. People will go to all kinds of lengths including telling lies, cheating, betrayal of others and some will even commit murder just to lay hold of and to keep riches that they cannot think of getting any other way.
Apart from all the material things riches can afford for a person, it also attracts others to you enabling you to enjoy the honour of others. Friends, relatives, fans etc appear from nowhere to celebrate and enjoy with you. You can afford the best provisions of life including medical care thus prolonging your earthly life. Riches therefore can lead to honour and to life.
However, I have seen rich but miserable, lonely, dishonoured, sick and dying (without hope) people. How one begins always determines how one ends. The end does not justify the means. In this case, the beginning and the means justifies the end.
Your foundation determines your conclusion. So ask yourself: what am I willing to do to become rich and why?
Now submit your plan and your desire to God. Let him help you make the necessary alterations and changes. His strategy and ways may not seem ‘wise’ to others. You may see others zoom past you. It is better to be slow but sure. Rather than fast and out.
Do it God’s way. Be humble, honour him first, respect and reverence (fear) him, his perspectives, his instructions, his methods first.
Most assuredly, this leads to lasting riches, honour and life ( real healthy long lasting enjoyable life), both here and now and also eternally.
By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.
